E-Mail White-Listing Instructions

White-List our Newsletter Emails

White-list this from address: BookingBuddy@lists.bookingbuddy.co.uk

Why White-list?

"Spam," or unsolicited and unwanted advertising email, is so widespread that most email services and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) now have blocking or filtering systems or blacklists to determine which email senders are distributing spam.

The problem with the methods mentioned above is that they often block email you actually want when it looks like spam. Anti-spam providers are trying to reduce "false positives," but there is still a risk you won't get the messages you have subscribed to.

However, there's another solution, and it only requires a little work on your part: You can "white-list" your new subscriptions when you get sign up. This way, you should get all of the mail you want, right from the beginning.

Gmail

If Google's Gmail is your email provider, make sure our messages are delivered to your inbox by either adding the sending address to your Contacts list or by marking any incorrectly filed email as "Not Spam." Here's how:

  • Open the email you wish to white-list.
  • Click the "More Options" link on the title line of the email (it's on the right, next to the date). (If "Hide Options" is shown, you can skip this step.)
  • When you see the extra options just below the subject line, click "Add sender to contacts list."

Or, simply send an email to BookingBuddy@lists.bookingbuddy.co.uk, which will add the address to your Contacts list automatically.

It's possible that the email you send won't get through, but just by sending it, our address becomes a part of your Contacts list. This can prevent future emails of ours from being sent into the spam folder, even if some have been filtered there already:

  • Click on the "Spam" link to access your Spam folder.
  • Click on the email that was incorrectly filtered to open it.
  • Click "Not Spam" at the top of the email.

AOL

For AOL Webmail:

  • Click "Settings" on the top right of the screen.
  • Click on "Spam Controls" on the left.
  • Click on the drop-down menu next to "Spam Filters By Address."
  • Select "Custom."
  • Check "Allow Mail From."
  • Type BookingBuddy@lists.bookingbuddy.co.uk into the text box that appears.
  • Click on the "Plus" button next to the email text box.

For AOL version 9.0: So that important email gets delivered to your inbox, add the sender's address to your "People I Know" list.

  • Open the specific email you wish to white-list.
  • Click "Add Address" (on the right) to put that sender to your "People I Know" list.

You can also send an email to the address at the top of this page.

It's possible that the email you send won't get through, but just by sending it, our address becomes a part of your Contacts list. This can prevent future emails of ours from being sent into the spam folder, even if some have been filtered there already:

If you're running an earlier version of AOL, you must set your Mail Controls instead. To do this, take the following steps:

  • Go to "Keyword Mail Controls."
  • Select your screen name.
  • Click "Customize Mail Controls For This Screen Name."

For AOL version 8.0: Choose "Allow email from all AOL members, email addresses and domains."

  • Click "Next" and wait for the "Save" button to appear at the bottom.
  • Click "Save."

For AOL version 7.0: In the section for "exclusion and inclusion parameters," include the domain "lists.bookingbuddy.co.uk."

HOTMAIL

If you're a Hotmail user, you can make sure our email is delivered to your inbox by adding the "From" address to your Safe List. Here's how:

  • Sign in and click the "Mail" tab to access your mailbox.
  • Click "Options" (on the top right, next to "Help").
  • Click "Safe and blocked senders" under "Junk email".
  • Click "Safe Senders."
  • Enter BookingBuddy@lists.bookingbuddy.co.uk.
  • Click "Add."
  • The address you entered in the Safe List box should now appear.

Alternatively, you can add the "From" address to your Contacts list:

  • Open the most recent email from the sender you want to white-list.
  • Click the "Save Address" button (to the right in the line of options just above the email).
  • Click "OK."

Yahoo

To ensure that our email is delivered to your Yahoo Inbox and not to the Bulk Mail folder, you can instruct Yahoo to filter it to your Inbox. Here's how:

  • Open your Yahoo mailbox.
  • Click Mail Options (top right).
  • Click Filters.
  • Next, click Add Filter.
  • In the top row, labeled From Header, make sure contains is selected in the pull-down menu.
  • Click in the text box next to that pull-down menu, then enter the address "BookingBuddy@lists.bookingbuddy.co.uk".
  • At the bottom, where it says Move the Message To, select Inbox from the pull-down menu.
  • Click the Add Filter button again.
