What you need to know before you book your airfare and tickets
If you have ever thought of exploring the kingdom of Jordan, why not book a cheap flight to Amman? Spend a few days soaking in the sights of Amman while you are there. The capital city of Jordan is packed with historic attractions, and there are some great bargains to be had in the markets too. A quick scan of the skyline will reveal a striking mixture of historic monuments nestling next to modern highrise buildings. The impressive Roman Amphitheatre is a must see sight. The huge theatre was built about 2000 years ago, and the semi-circular structure is still largely intact. One of the oldest inhabited sites in Amman is Jabal al Qala , or Amman Citadel. Evidence of several different civilisations have been uncovered on this hill. Visit the National Archaeological Museum here to see the various items that have been uncovered, or explore the ruins of the Temple of Hercules. Visit Rainbow Street for more modern attractions. There are plenty of unique independent shops here, as well as trendy bars, and cafes with outdoor seating. You will find a large variety of cuisines served in the restaurants here. Cantaloupe is a casual gastro pub that serves steaks and salads, as well as a selection of wines. Those of you who are keen to shop can head towards downtown Amman, also known as The Balad. There are a number of souks here, where you can pick up anything from embroidered Bedouin outfits, to a handmade Jordanian dagger!
