Bomaby as used to be called, makes for a great fall out base to explore the rest of the country, but it also offers some interesting things to do if you find yourself with a few days to spend here. Check out the Chor Bazaar for instance. It used to be a market were stolen goods were traded which is why it's still called the 'thieves market'. Now it's a great place to browse for antiques and other second had items. Capture the sun setting over the Arabian Sea on Marine drive. It's a happening place to hang out in the evenings and it looks very pretty with all the lights are on. Mingle with the locals at Juhu Beach. It might not be like any other beach you're familiar with at home, but it's the perfect place to soak up the local culture. It's the most fun on the weekends when there is an amusement park with lots of rides and other fun things. For some local history, visit the house where Mahatma Ghandi used to live. It's called Mani Bhavan Ghandi Museum and it tells you a lot about his live and struggles. If you've only got time to try out one restaurant in Mumbai, make sure it's Trishna. They serve excellent seafood dishes which you can pick out yourself before they cook it. The setting is a bit weird as it feels like you've stepped into a Swiss restaurant, but the quality of the food is well worth the visit. Do taste the house special! For some food with a bit of live entertainment, try out Not just jazz by the Bay in Colaba which is a fantastic place to chill out.
