What you need to know before you book your airfare and tickets
Looking for a Mediterranean island getaway? Why not check out some cheap flights to Palma? Mallorca might not be as hip and trendy as its sister Balearic island Ibiza, but if you're looking for some peace and quiet instead of humungous techno temples, then you should get on that cheap flight to Palma now. This ancient city which dates all the way back to Roman times has everything from great beaches with trendy beach bars to hip art galleries and shops. Check out the stores at Avenue Jaume III and Paseo del Borne for Spanish brands such as Mango and Zara. Stroll around the streets of the old town and have a peak at the Cathedral of La Palma in front of which you can watch open air movies in the summer season. Spend your afternoon lazing on a lounger sipping on a sweet cocktail at cool Puro Beach Club. It belongs to the design hotel with the same name, but is open for anyone to have lunch or drinks. For the ultimate relaxation, book yourself in for a massage at the hotel spa which is located right on the beach. What could be better than aromatherapy with the sounds of the waves in the background? If the city is still too buzzy, then hire yourself a cheap rental car and go explore the rest of the island. An absolute must see is the town of Deia. It's a small artists' community that has a very bohemian vibe to it. It's set on a mountain and the views onto the Med are truly awe inspiring. Drive onwards to the Cala de Deia bay and dive into the crystal blue water to cool down. Another quaint little town surrounded by mountains is Soller. It's an excellent place to stop for lunch or have an ice cream at Jardin Cafe. They have over 30 different flavours of ice cream. Take the little tram down to the beach to have a dip in the sea till the sun goes down.
