What you need to know before you book your airfare and tickets
Get on a cheap flight to Bangalore to discover the bustling, futuristic side of India. The cityscape in Bangalore (or Bengaluru, as it is officially known) is an astonishing jumble of high-tech skyscrapers and striking colonial buildings. The city is known as the Silicon Valley of India, due to the high concentration of IT companies here. Lal Bagh Botanical Garden is a popular spot for locals and visitors to Bangalore. The eyecatching Glass House hosts annual flower shows, and is decked out with a multitude of colourful flowers at other times. Escape from the stifling afternoon heat with a picnic in leafy Cubbon Park. This leafy park provides Bangalore with oxygen as well as lots of eyecandy in the form of vibrant indigenous flora. The Attara Kacheri, State Archaeological Museum and Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall are all on the grounds of Cubbon Park, and are completely unmissable due to the intense red hued of their facades. Spend some time admiring the many beautiful temples. The Shiva Temple on Airport Road is crowned by an immense statue of Lord Shiva, which sits in its very own artificial lake. Another stunning temple is the Gavi Gangadeshwara Cave Temple. This ancient cave temple is carved out of natural rock, with four massive pillars supporting it.
