What you need to know before you book your airfare and tickets
For an artistic weekend away, why not book yourself a cheap ticket to Berlin? The capital of Germany is a real magnet for artists around the globe and there for full of art studios and artsy cafes and clothing shops. For an authentic East block style city tour, hire a Trabant and visit all the touristy sights. Hop off at the check point Charlie museum and be amazed at all the fascinating ways the inhabitants of East Berlin came up with to flee to the West. For a nice coffee or a cheap breakfast or lunch head over to the trendy area of Shoenenberg. Have a look at cafe Montevideo which is very popular on the weekend. For late night drinks in the same area, try a cocktail at the Bar am Lutzlowplatz on, you guessed it, the Lutzlowplatz. A very trendy bar where you go to see and to be seen. If you are more into the traditional German pubs, try the Zur Letzen Instanz. A bar that apparently dates from the 1600's and sits right next to a leftover bit of a medieval wall.
