What you need to know before you book your airfare and tickets
Looking for a holiday destination this summer? Book a cheap flight to Nice. This Mediterranean jewel is slightly less bling than nearby Cannes or St Tropez, but makes for a nice base to explore the Cote d'Azur without having to break your piggy bank. If you're looking for cheap accommodation, have a look at one of the rooms at artsy B&B Moma. It is run by two artists who decorated the place themselves. Rooms are 90 Euro including a homemade breakfast. If you're an early bird, do take a stroll in the morning on the Promenade des Anglais, the main boulevard along the beach. It's a great place to see the sun come up and watch the city come to life. If you prefer to have a lie in instead, there is always the option to watch the equally breathtaking sunset by taking that same stroll in the evening. On Saturday morning go and wander around the little streets and alley ways in the old town of Nice. Have a look around the farmers' market on Cours Soleya and buy a picnic lunch here to take away to the beach or leafy park Jardin Albert 1er. Or if you prefer to have a real French restaurant lunch, get a red-checked decked table at Au Petit Gari. For only 11 Euro you can have the plat du jour and a glass of wine. Art lovers should not miss out on a visit to either the Matisse museum or the Chagall museum dedicated to these two great painters. If you have got time to go beyond the city limits if Nice, hire a car and explore the coast. Drive to above mentioned millionaires' hangouts or even Monte Carlo and ogle them in their natural habitat...
