What you need to know before you book your airfare and tickets
It's not just about the pizzas in this city, although they do serve very tasty ones here, but when you book a cheap flight to Naples, you'll find that this city has an unending treasure of historical buildings. Numerous kings, emperors and other types of rulers have reigned and all left their marks in the shape of cathedrals, piazzas, and castles to name but a few. It's not for nothing that it's now a listed Unesco World Heritage Site. You'll need at least a day or three to fully appreciate all that is here. But if you're strapped for time, have a wander through the old historic centre of town and visit the Royal Palace. Or walk around Spaccanapoli. It's another very old part of the city with loads of quaint little shops and little artisanal workshops. You'll feel like you've stepped back into times long gone by. Then spend the afternoon watching people walk by while having a little picnic in Capodimonte Royal Woods. Especially on the weekends you can spend hours here enjoying the sunshine. If you've done al the sites and want to see a bit more of the surrounding area, head out to Pompeii and learn about the way of life back in Roman times. It's quite amazing to see how much of the town has stayed intact because of the lava from nearby volcano Vesuvius when it erupted. If you're looking for some sun and beach, hop on a boat to the island of Capri for day trip. If you're lucky you'll spot a celeb or two. For an exclusive dinner back in Naples, dress up and go to Il Gabbiano. It's a tat pricey, but the food, view and service are well worth the cash.
