What you need to know before you book your airfare and tickets
Have been to the famous three in Andalusia? Then book a cheap flight to Murcia and discover the orchard of Europe. There are many interesting touristy spots to visit in the province as well as the city of Murcia. The cathedral of Santa Maria is a good place to start. It's a pretty impressive building which was built in the 15th century. Another sight not to be missed is the baroque Almudi Palace in the Plano de San Francisco. It was built on the site where harvesters and merchants came together to trade grains and cereals. Which is where the cathedral gets its name from. The rest of the town has a quaint and authentic feel to it and it's definitely worth walking around the narrow streets browsing the shops and sipping on a cafe con leche. Visit the Museo Salcillo dedicated to the sculptor with the same name who lived in Murcia in the 18th century. He is still considered to be one of the best baroque sculptors in Spain. Take a break and have some lunch at La Churra. They serve mouth watering Spanish dishes. It comes at a price, but if money is not an issue, then do have at least one meal here during your stay. Another cheaper option is Taberna Tipica La Pequena SL. They serve local tapas and the atmosphere is lively every night. An interesting day trip is to drive out to La Manga de Mar Menor. It's a salt lake that is separated from the sea by a small bit of land. It's not quite the Dead Sea, but still the buoyancy is higher than in a normal salt water sea. It is still farmed for salt deposits till this day.
