What you need to know before you book your airfare and tickets
Situated on the bank of the lake with the same name, Geneva is a very pleasant city to spend a day or two. It's the seat of many international organisations and financial institutions which gives the city a multi cultural vibe. Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Boulangerie Eric Emery. The scent of freshly baked bread welcomes you as soon as you step into the shop. Spend the afternoon in Le Plaine, a quaint area outside the city centre with tons of little squares and narrow streets that are lined with interesting shops. This is also the place where it all happens at night. There are plenty of bars and clubs where you can party till the break of dawn. If you've got the cash, book a room at the Kempinski Hotel, but if your budget doesn't stretch that far, then settle for dinner at Floor Two, the hotel restaurant and admire the sweeping views across the lake and on the Jet d'Eau fountain.
