What you need to know before you book your airfare and tickets
It is not all about the pubs and the Guinness in this town. There is lots more to see and do. Everything is pretty much within walking distance, but if you are here for only a weekend you are better off using public transport. So before you book your cheap flight to Dublin, go online and get yourself a Dublin Pass. It entitles you to free transport for three days, free transfer from and to the airport, and free entry to 30 attractions such as Dublin Castle and Christchurch Cathedral and lots of other discounts. If you are lucky and it doesnât rain when you are visiting, do hop on the Dart train and go South to visit Dun Laoghaire and Killiney on the coast. Another great way of spending a scenic afternoon is to take a walk from Bray to Greystones along the cliffs and take in the amazing views over the Irish Sea. Temple Bar is of course the area to spend your evenings with plenty of restaurants and bars, but if you are looking for something more authentic try the Brazen Head on Bridge Street. This is the oldest pub in the city and they offer traditional Irish fare and live music on most nights. If you are looking for a place to stay, try to find something in the Victorian Ballsbridge area. This is a quiet, residential area in walking distance of St Stephenas Green and Grafton Street. The main shopping street. There are lots of posh hotels here
but if you are looking for cheap accommodation you will be able to check into inexpensive B&B as as well.
